Tucson Camp 2023 Straight From Our Camp Athletes
2023 was a success!! We can’t thank our athletes and staff enough for another great year!!
Testimonials straight from our camp athletes:
“Marilyn's deep experience in running camps definitely showed - everything ran smoothly with a great mix of coaches (variety of backgrounds cycling, swimming, triathlon) and top notch support! Amazing group of athletes with a variety of levels meant you could push yourself on any and every workout. This was my first time attending a MCC camp and it definitely won't be my last!”
“This camp is amazing! The high level of coaching, camp experience, and iconic training ground of Tucson attracts dedicate, talented and passionate athletes. The combination of coaching, organization, and community keeps me coming back year after year. Its a perfect environment to increase fitness, knowledge, and skills heading into the season. And it's just a lot of fun!”
“It’s the first triathlon camp I’ve attended as an athlete and I really loved every minute of it. You definitely know how to run next level experiences. I really appreciated the professionalism and attention to logistics as well as the many supports in place from sag to snacks to swag to meals. Most important were the coaches you lined up for camp - all of them amazing…helpful, positive, supportive, knowledgeable and fun. Thank you for a great week,I would love to come back next year. “
“I returned from Marilyn’s Camp feeling immeasurably more fit and significantly more confident for spring races. Fitness was my chief goal going into Camp, but I hadn’t expected to benefit from such expert and hands-on coaching, see inspiring parts of Tucson I never had, or to meet so many awesome new buddies. Social connection was my secondary goal, and Camp reinspired my affinity for the triathlon community.
The ride support, facilities, lodging, meals, routes, pool, workouts, and peeps all get a gajillion-star Yelp review from me. It swiftly became evident why so many Campers return each year.
When anyone considers trying a new Camp, undoubtedly they worry about what the training and the social vibes will be. Will it be competitive, relaxed, an ego fest, too high-level, or not high-level enough? At Marilyn’s Camp, everyone pushes themselves and each other, somehow void of competitiveness. Top level athletes including pros are able to max themselves out with volume, but those who need to or just simply want to dial back the kilometers or speed have ample options to shorten any day without any stigma. The best part, IMHO, is when we all gather for dinner at the end of the day. Rather than post-mortem who went farther or faster, the convo shifts to fun stuff, creating a family vibe that extends the whole week and persists even after we all leave. If you want a high-volume, bike-focused, excellent vibe, confidence-building Camp where the sun shines warmly, Marilyn’s Camp is for you.”
